“The poetry of the earth is never dead.”
-John Keats

I thought this was a fitting quote to go with these photos of fungi. They are a Northwest coast fungi we came across in Fall. Enjoy!

Here is a hedgehog mushroom we found.

“The best way out is always through.”
-Robert Frost

When I am unhappy with something going on in my life I like to remember this quote. It is always easier to turn and run or avoid a situation all together. This quote helps remind me to buckle down and do my best instead of run away. You rock Robert Frost!

I think cacti are my favorite plants. I have always loved the oddness of them. I especially love when they surprise me by blooming (for some reason it always surprises me), as if they are trying to prove their beauty.

over and over announcing your place in the family of things.”

Resurrection Fern

These beautiful photographs are from one of my favorite blogs called Resurrection Fern, URL: http://resurrectionfern.typepad.com/.
The author also has a wonderful shop on Etsy.com that is worth checking out. It is called “knitalatte”.
She makes artwork out of rocks by crocheting over them. You can find some for sale at her Etsy shop.

I just love the idea of natural objects as art, and I think these rocks are absolutely beautiful!

There is nothing more wonderful than springtime in Seattle! We went to the Conservatory last week and were blown away by the amazing flowers. By far my favorite was the orchid cacti which were as big as my face! They are part of the genus Epiphyllum.
