Fremont Troll

The other day we were driving around and came across some statues. First we drove by the famous Fremont Troll who lives under the Aurora Bridge in Fremont (Seattle). In his left hand he is crushing an old Volkswagon Beetle.

Then we saw this sculpture called Waiting for the Interurban. Apparently people like to dress up these statues, hence the red wigs.

There are a lot of neat sculptures in Fremont, including the largest Lenin Statue in the U.S., and they are definately worth checking out.

Resurrection Fern

These beautiful photographs are from one of my favorite blogs called Resurrection Fern, URL: http://resurrectionfern.typepad.com/.
The author also has a wonderful shop on Etsy.com that is worth checking out. It is called “knitalatte”.
She makes artwork out of rocks by crocheting over them. You can find some for sale at her Etsy shop.

I just love the idea of natural objects as art, and I think these rocks are absolutely beautiful!
